The Estonian conference market is worth about 50 million EEK annually. It has three well established big players, out of which Pärnu Conferences has an annual turnover of 20 million EEK, and Estonian Conference Centre and Äripäev both about 10 million EEK. The remaining 20% is divided between smaller conference operators. Each conference operator organizes 5-10 large events on a variety of different topics (including management, IT, finances, marketing, etc.) and numerous smaller events per year.

Mobi SMS-poll was first introduced to the conference market in June 2001 at the new media conference by the leading operator Pärnu Conferences. Since Autumn 2001, SMS-poll was used at most of the major conferences in Estonia.

For a visitor of a conference, SMS-poll has proved to be an excellent and entertaining way to make the event more interactive, as the participation rates have constantly been around 50% of the total number of people at the event.

For the organiser of the conference and the presenter, SMS-poll gives immediate and accurate feedback about any issue that they want to know the general opinion on. The results of the poll have often appeared in the media and have been published in management journals.

For introducing the SMS-poll to conferences, the leading Estonian business newspaper Äripäev awarded Mobi 'The Most Innovative Business Idea of the Year' title in December 2001.
