Mobi Solutions was founded in October 2000 by five then students
from Tartu University. In June 2001, Linnar Viik, a former advisor
to the Prime Minister and initiator of numerous innovative
IT projects, joined the Mobi team to strengthen
company's product development and marketing.
Late 2000, Mobi became the first company in Estonia to trial
mobile advertising. In 2001, Mobi introduced SMS based event
promotion services, like SMS-poll and SMS-quiz, for which the
leading business newspaper Äripäev awarded us the title of
"most innovative business idea of the year".
In 2001, Mobi Solutions was the first company in Estonia to launch
SMS-gateway where other service providers could connect their services.
We were also the first to introduce m-payments to the Baltic market:
initially for web-based payments but in Summer 2002 also for ticketing
in Tallinn public transport.
In 2002, we took the provision of m-services to a new level by introducing an innovative portal Everybody´s M-Business,
where everybody can make their own SMS-service and earn money. In 2003, Tartu City awarded us with the "biggest achievement"
award at the annual business awards ceremony.
Today, Mobi Solutions focuses on development and provision of mobile
services to businesses. Our clients include more than 60 international
and local companies.
We take pride in introducing new solutions
first and being an innovation leader in the Baltic mobile services
market.
